Disable networking - WinNT
Enable Peer-to-peer Networking - WinNT

From within Windows - click on Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.

Double-click on the Network icon.

If your network adapter is not listed in the Adapters Tab:

Click on Add, then Adapter, then Add again.

Select your make and model of card.
-
Click on Close and restart your computer for the change to take effect.

If the NetBEUI protocol is not listed in the Protocols Tab:
-
Click on Add.
-
Select NetBEUI Protocol.
-
Click on OK.
-
Choose the Tab called Identification.
-
The computer name should be unique on your network.
-
The workgroup name should be the same on all computers on your network.
-
Click on OK and allow Windows to restart the computer for it to
take effect.
Confirm it worked by opening Network Neighborhood: you should see other
computers on the network.
Configure your drive or folder to be shareable -
WinNT

Open Windows Explorer.

Select the hard drive or folder you want to share.

Click on File.
-
Click on Properties.
-
Select Tab called Sharing.
-
Click on Shared As.
-
Note that your drives will have a "Default Share" of the drive name
plus a dollar-sign. (For example, your C drive will have a defualt share
of C$.) This does not make this drive shared on peer-to-peer networking
- you have to add a new share.

If you are sharing your whole drive, click on Add New Share.

Fill in the Share Name.

Click on Permissions.

For giving everyone the same access, that is, full access:
-
If you do not see Everyone with Full Control, click on Add.
-
Select Everyone, then click on Add.
-
Select Type Of Access by clicking on the arrow button to the right of the
Type Of Access field, and select Full Control.
(Note that many other combinations are possible to choose from.)

Click on OK.

Click on OK. After a second or two you will see the icon for the drive
or folder change to having a hand under it.
Share a drive or folder on another PC - WinNT

Open Windows Explorer.

Click on Network Neighbourhood.
-
Click on Entire Network.
-
Click on Workgroup.
-
Click on Computer.
-
Click on Drive.
-
Enter password if there is one.
Configure your printer as shareable - WinNT

From Toolbar, select Settings, Printers.

Click on your printer that you want to share.
-
Click on the Tab called Sharing.
-
Change to Shared As.
-
Fill in the name you want to share it as.
-
If you are sharing this printer with Windows95/98 computers, select Alternate
Drivers for Windows 95. (You will need a Windows 95 CD for this step.)

Click on OK. After a second or two you will see the icon for the printer
change to having a hand under it.
Share a printer on another PC - WinNT

From toolbar, go to Settings, Printers.

Choose Add Printer.
-
Select Network printer server in Add Printer Wizard.

Browse for printer queue. (Network computer that already has it’s printer
set up as shared).

Choose printer queue.
-
Click on OK.
-
Add printer driver if necessary.
-
Click on OK.
